HUMANITARIAN EYE CARE MISSION – GHANA 2026
MANYA KROBO EYE CARE MISSION
with Adzato Electoral Area Follow-Up & Delivery
MANYA KROBO EYE CARE MISSION
What to Expect
From First Mission to Expanded Care in Manya Krobo Land (Lower and Upper Manya)
In the past year, Stichting Licht voor het Oog (Foundation Light for the Eye) carried out its first humanitarian eye-care mission in the Volta Region of Ghana, where many people were screened and identified with urgent and untreated vision problems.
This initial work was followed by eye-care outreach in the Adzato Electoral Area, where screenings continued and prescription glasses were prepared for community members in need.
In January 2026, the mission returns — not only to deliver, but to take the next step by expanding comprehensive eye care into Krobo Land, in close cooperation with local authorities and health services.

❋ Official Support & Collaboration
Official Support & Collaboration
This mission in Krobo Land is formally endorsed and supported by:
• Ghana Health Service – Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Health Directorate
• Manya Krobo Traditional Council
All activities are conducted according to Ghana Health Service medical protocols, with the involvement of local optometrists, health workers, and community leaders.
❋ Why Krobo Land Matters
Krobo Land is home to large communities with limited access to structured eye care. Many eye conditions remain untreated, despite being preventable or manageable when detected early. By expanding services into Krobo Land, this mission aims to:
• Restore sight and daily functioning
• Prevent avoidable vision loss
• Detect eye diseases at an early stage
• Build trust through continuity of care and local collaboration
Looking Forward
This mission represents an important step toward sustainable eye care in Krobo Land, with a focus on:
• Continuity and follow-up care
• Strong local partnerships
• Future eye-care initiatives and clinics
